Auch Monte Calvagione genannte Berg liegt an der Grenze zu Italien. Zu erreichen via Wanderweg oder bequem mit der Zahnradbahn.
Erreichbarkeit: Mit der Zahnradbahn gelangst du in 40 Minuten von der Talstation in Capolago.
Capolago erreichst du mit dem öffentlichen Verkehr mit dem Zug ab Lugano in ca. 20 Minuten.
Mit dem Auto gelangst du in ca. 25 Minuten von Lugano über die A2 zur Talstation. Es sind kostenpflichtige Parkplätze vorhanden.

Willst du auf den Monte Generoso wandern?
Ab Rivio Paesa (von Lugano gelangst du mit Zug und Bus in ca. 40 Minuten zum Ausgangspunkt der Wanderung) gelangst du über Stock und Stein in ca. 4 Stunden bis zum Monte Generoso. Es ist Trittsicherheit und teils Schwindelfreiheit erforderlich.
Wanderschuhe sind Pflicht.
Verpflegung: Nimm genügend Wasser und Essen mit auf den Weg. Erst ab Bellavista kannst du dich wieder verpflegen. Bis dahin überwindest du einige Höhenmeter und bist froh über den mitgebrachten Proviant.

The mountain, also known as Monte Calvagione, lies on the border with Italy. Reachable via hiking trail or easily by cog railway.
Accessibility: The cog railway takes you from the valley station in Capolago in 40 minutes.
You can reach Capolago by public transport by train from Lugano in about 20 minutes.
By car you can get to the valley station from Lugano in about 25 minutes via the A2. There are paid parking spaces available.

Do you want to hike to Monte Generoso?
From Rivio Paesa (from Lugano you can get to the starting point of the hike in about 40 minutes by train and bus) you can reach Monte Generoso over hill and dale in about 4 hours. Sure-footedness and a head for heights are required.
Hiking shoes are mandatory.
Food: Take enough water and food with you on the way. You can only eat again from Bellavista. By then you will overcome a few meters of altitude and be happy about the provisions you brought with you.
