Die Sonnenstube, in der Luganer Voralpen gelegen, bietet einen tollen Blick auf den Luganersee sowie die Stadt Lugano.
Eine kurze aber knackige Wanderung oder eine Standseilbahn führt auf knapp 1000 Höhenmeter.
Schwierigkeitsgrad: T2
Erreichbarkeit: Mit dem öffentlichen Verkehr gelangst du mit dem Zug bis nach Lugano. Ab Lugano verkehren alle 15 Minuten bis zur Talstation Monte Bus B2, Richtung Castagnola, Capolinea, Haltestelle Cassarate, Monte Brè.
Mit dem Auto kannst du dieses Jahr (2023) beim Campo Marzio / Conza in Via Campo Marzio 1, 6900 Lugano parkieren. Beim Kauf eines Berg- oder Berg-/Talfahrt Ticket für den Gipfel, kann direkt beim Fahrer (Sektion II) ein kostenloses Ausfahrtsticket anfordern und das ausgestellte Parkticket abgeben.
Die Parkplatzanzahl ist stark begrenzt.
Wanderung: Ab der Talstation gelangst du in ca. 2 Stunden bis zum Gipfel. Der Weg führt über viele Treppenstufen, Wald und Gassen hindurch. Auch gibt es die Möglichkeit vom Monte Bre bis nach Lugano zu laufen. Wer nicht den ganzen Weg nach unten laufen möchte, kann in ca. 45 Minuten vom Monte Bre bis nach Aldesago, Paese laufen und dort dann den Bus (welcher stündlich verkehrt) zurück nach Lugano fahren.

Kulinarisch: Auf dem Monte Bre wie auch auf dem Weg nach oben sind einige Verpflegungsmöglichkeiten vorhanden.
Monte Brè Trip tip The sunroom, located in the Lugano Alps, offers a great view of Lake Lugano and the city of Lugano. A short but challenging hike or a funicular takes you up to almost 1000 meters in altitude. Difficulty level: T2 Accessibility: With public transport you can take the train to Lugano. From Lugano, bus B2 runs every 15 minutes to the Monte valley station, towards Castagnola, Capolinea, Cassarate, Monte Brè stop. This year (2023) you can park your car at Campo Marzio / Conza in Via Campo Marzio 1, 6900 Lugano. When purchasing a mountain or ascent/descent ticket for the summit, you can request a free exit ticket directly from the driver (Section II) and hand in the issued parking ticket. The number of parking spaces is very limited.
Hike: From the valley station you can reach the summit in about 2 hours. The path leads over many steps, through forest and alleys. There is also the option of walking from Monte Bre to Lugano. If you don't want to walk all the way down, you can walk from Monte Bre to Aldesago, Paese in about 45 minutes and then take the bus (which runs every hour) back to Lugano.
