Die schnuckelige Hauptstadt der Slowakei ist ein Reiseziel, das sich lohnt! An der Donau liegen bietet Bratislava viele wunderschöne alte Häuser und Kirchen. Rund um die Hauptstadt gibt es viele Wander- wie auch Velowege, die ins Grüne führen.
Erreichbarkeit: Ab Wien gelangst du in etwas mehr als einer Stunde ins Zentrum der Hauptstadt. Der Bahnhof "Bratislava-Petrzalka" liegt nicht im Zentrum der Stadt. Es muss ein Bus (ca. 15 Minuten) in die Innenstadt genommen werden.
Der grösste Flughafen der Slowakei liegt ca. 9 km vom Stadtzentrum entfernt. Mit dem Bus erreichst du das Zentrum.
Sehenswürdigkeiten:
Burg von Bratislava: Ursprünglich war die Burg der Sitz der Herrscher. Heute ist es ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel und Sitz des historischen Museums.
Die Burg befindet sich auf einem 85 m hohen Felsen über dem Ufer der Donau. Vom Zentrum her gut zu Fuss zu erreichen.
Blue Church/Sankt-Elisabeth Kirche: Vom Zentrum her in ca. 15 Gehminuten ist die blaue Kirche Bratislavas zu erreichen. Sowohl das Kircheninnere wie das äussere ist in hellblauen Tönen gestaltet. Die Kirche wurde der heiligen Elisabeth von Ungarn gewidmet und ist römisch-katholisch.
Burg Devin: Eine Ruine im gleichnamigen Stadtteil von Bratislava ist einen Ausflug wert. Vom Stadtinneren erreichst du die Burg mit regelmässigen Busverbindungen (ca. 3-4x in der Stunde) in ca. 25 Minuten. Mit einer Sicht auf die Donau und Ursprung der slowakischen Geschichte einen Besuch wert. Für den Eintritt musst du 4 Euro bezahlen.
Michaelertor: Das einzige erhaltene Tor der mittelalterlichen Stadtfestung von Bratislava, das Michaelertor. Im Zentrum der Stadt gelegen und eines der ältesten Gebäude der Stadt.

Essen: Durch die Nachbarländer Österreich, Tschechien sowie Ungarn wurde die Küche beeinflusst. Die typische Küche ist stark fleischlastig, es gibt aber immer mehr vegetarische/vegane Optionen. Brimsennocken ist das Nationalgericht. Dies sind kleine aus Kartoffelteig zubereitete Klösse die mit Schafsfrischkäse vermengt werden.

There are many hiking and cycling trails around the capital that lead into the countryside. Accessibility: From Vienna you can get to the center of the capital in just over an hour. The Bratislava-Petrzalka train station is not in the center of the city. You have to take a bus (approx. 15 minutes) to the city center. The largest airport in Slovakia is approximately 9 km from the city center. You can reach the center by bus. Sightseeing attractions: Bratislava Castle: Originally the castle was the seat of the rulers. Today it is a popular excursion destination and home to the historical museum. The castle is located on an 85 m high rock above the banks of the Danube. Easy to reach on foot from the center. Blue Church/Saint Elisabeth Church: Bratislava's blue church can be reached in about 15 minutes on foot from the center. Both the inside and outside of the church are designed in light blue tones. The church was dedicated to Saint Elizabeth of Hungary and is Roman Catholic.
Devin Castle: A ruin in the Bratislava district of the same name is worth a trip. From the city center you can reach the castle in about 25 minutes with regular bus connections (approx. 3-4 times an hour). Worth a visit with a view of the Danube and the origins of Slovak history. You have to pay 4 euros for entry. Michael's Gate: The only surviving gate of the medieval city fortress of Bratislava, the Michael's Gate. Located in the center of the city and one of the oldest buildings in the city.
