Monte San Salvatore (TI)
Der Aussichtspunkt Monte San Salvatore am Ufer des Luganer See bietet ein 360° Sicht über den See und weit in den Süden bis zu den Hochalpen im Westen.
Die Wanderung ist kurz, aber knackig.
Schwierigkeitsgrad: Mittel
Ausrüstung: Wanderschuhe, genügend zu trinken (es bestehen keine Möglichkeiten, eine Flasche aufzufüllen.)
Erreichbarkeit: Mit dem Zug gelangst du in regelmässigen Verbringungen von Lugano in nur vier Minuten bis nach Lugano Paradiso. Vom Bahnhof Paradiso läufst du nur wenige Minuten bis zur Standseilbahn. Der Bahnhof bietet aber auch einen guten Ausgangspunkt für die Wanderung auf den Monte San Salvatore.
Mit dem Auto: Von der Autobahn Lugano Süd ist die Talstation von Monte San Salvatore nur fünf Minuten entfernt. Kostenpflichtige Parkplätze (6 Franken pro Tag) sind vorhanden.
Wanderung: Vom Bahnhof Paradiso gelangst du in ca. zwei Stunden auf den San Salvatore. Die Wanderung führt erst nahe der Standseilbahn über Treppen und anschliessend in den Wald hinein. Der Weg ist breit gemacht und beinhaltet immer wieder Treppenstufen.
Einige Bänke sind auch vorhanden, um zwischenzeitlich einige Pausen einzulegen.
Der Blick schweift immer wieder über den Luganer See und die umliegenden Alpen bis nach Italien.
Es werden etwas mehr als 600 Höhenmeter zurückgelegt, was ein gutes Workout ergibt :)
Bahn: Schon seit 1890 fährt eine Standseilbahn auf den Hausberg von Lugano. Sowohl im Sommer wie auch im Winter verkehrt die Bahn auf den Berg. Laut Geschichte pilgern seit dem Jahr 1200 Gläubige auf den Berg, um dem Sohn Gottes Ehre zu erweisen, da er laut Legende bei seiner Auffahrt in den Himmel hier kurz Rast gemacht haben soll.

Verpflegung: Auf dem Gipfel gibt es ein gemütliches Restaurant mit Veranda und Panoramaterrasse. Zudem gibt es auf dem Gipfel Picknickmöglichkeiten, wie auch auf dem gesamten Weg nach oben.
Weitere Wanderungen: Die Wanderung lässt sich beliebig ausdehnen.
Die Wanderung kann über einen wunderschönen Höhenweg über Kastanienwälder bis zum See nach Morcote gezogen werden.

Mount San Salvatore (TI) excursion tip The Monte San Salvatore viewpoint on the shores of Lake Lugano offers a 360° view across the lake and far to the south to the High Alps to the west. The hike is short but crisp. Difficulty level: medium Equipment: hiking shoes, enough to drink (there are no opportunities to fill up a bottle.) Accessibility: Regular trains take you from Lugano to Lugano Paradiso in just four minutes. From the Paradiso train station you walk only a few minutes to the funicular. The train station also offers a good starting point for a hike up Monte San Salvatore. By car: The valley station of Monte San Salvatore is only five minutes away from the Lugano Sud motorway. Paid parking spaces (6 francs per day) are available. Hike: From Paradiso train station you can reach San Salvatore in about two hours. The hike first leads close to the funicular over stairs and then into the forest. The path is wide and includes steps again and again. There are also a few benches to take a few breaks in the meantime.
The view keeps sweeping over Lake Lugano and the surrounding Alps to Italy. There is a little more than 600 meters of altitude difference, which makes for a good workout :) Train: A funicular has been running up Lugano's local mountain since 1890. The train runs up the mountain both in summer and in winter. According to history, believers have been making pilgrimages to the mountain since 1200 to honor the Son of God, since according to legend he is said to have stopped here briefly on his ascension to heaven. There are also picnic areas at the summit, as well as all the way up. Further hikes: The hike can be extended as desired.
