This sweet syrup is perfect for the upcoming hot weather. Infused with ice-cold water and a few ice cubes, it is super refreshing.
Makes about 3 liters
Preparation time active: 30 minutes
let stand: 24 h
Ingredients: elderflower syrup, hot water, citric acid, sugar
50 g fresh elderflowers in a bowl
Pour 1 liter of boiling water over it.
Cover and let stand at room temperature for 24 hours.
The next day:
elderflower water with
40 grams of citric acid
1.5 kg of sugar, mix
Bring to the boil, stirring constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Rinse clean bottles with hot water, fill with the syrup.
Close and label well.
Shelf life: Well closed in a dark room, about six months.
