Cathedral Cove Walk (NZ)
Ein Spaziergang mit wunderschönem Ausblick auf die Küsten Coromandels hin zur bekannten Cathedral Cove. Entlang schöner Stränden.

Erreichbarkeit: Mit dem Auto bist du in Neuseeland am flexibelsten unterwegs. Der öffentliche Verkehr ist besonders ausserhalb grosser Städte nicht gut ausgebaut. Mit dem Auto kannst du bis nach Hahei fahren. Dort findest du viele kostenlose Parkplätze.
Wanderung: Da es Anfang Jahr besonders im Norden der Nordinsel viele Unwetter gab, konnten wir nicht bis ganz zur Cathedral Cove laufen. Der letzte Teil des Weges war wegen Steinschlag gesperrt. Der Anfang der Wanderung ist gut ausgelegt und geht über den Strand und gut gesichertes Terrain.
Fazit: Der blaue Pazifik, tolle Strände (die zum Verweilen einladen) und die berühmte Cathedral Cove. Toll und eine Ausflug auf jeden Fall Wert.
Tipp: Geh am besten früh morgens los. Vor allem bei schönem Wetter kann die Cove sehr überlaufen sein.

Difficulty level: easy Duration: 1h 30 minutes/2.5 km Accessibility: The most flexible way to get around in New Zealand is by car. Public transport is not well developed, especially outside of large cities. You can drive to Hahei by car. There you will find many free parking spaces. Hike: Since there were a lot of storms at the beginning of the year, especially in the north of the North Island, we couldn't walk all the way to Cathedral Cove. The last part of the trail was closed due to falling rocks. The beginning of the hike is well designed and goes over the beach and well-secured terrain. Conclusion: The blue Pacific, great beaches (which invite you to linger) and the famous Cathedral Cove. Great and definitely worth a trip. Tip: It is best to leave early in the morning. The Cove can be very crowded, especially when the weather is nice.
